Eden Valley is a cool climate region nestled between 400 and 600 meters above sea level and is part of the Barossa and Mount Lofty Ranges. It is rough, rocky country that belies its ability to produce wines of great delicacy and finesse.

The soils are derived from schistic and sedimentary rock with red clay soils and sandy, silty loams interspersed with schistic gravels. The cooler climate of the Eden Valley allows fruit to experience longer ripening periods which is perfect for flavour accumulation and intensity. Solid winter and spring rainfall followed by a warm and dry January and February led to a balanced vintage with good fruit intensity and structure. The moments of heat were short and dispersed and arrived after the majority of the whites were harvested leading to good natural acidity and balance.

The fruit for this wine was selected from a special parcel within our Eden Valley Riesling vineyard. Using the heart of the free run for this wine yields all the hallmarks of great riesling. A tight zesty nose of cut limes and jasmine followed by a palate of juicy acidity, citrus, florals and wet stones provides a wine of racy intensity and length.
