First Village Shiraz 2022

It's wonderfully fruited and fragrant on the nose, showing blackberry, mixed spice, rich floral and assorted nut aromas. The palate is equally appealing with plump mouthfeel and silky texture, leading to a lingering supple finish.

Terrific value Barossa Shiraz, this is a very dark maroon hue. The aromas swirl around cloves, really dark chocolate, bay leaves, leather, dried herbs and blackcurrants, but it is the coffee beans which are to the fore. There is a flicker of oak still evident and there is quite a pleasing savoury note to this. A seductive and supple texture with fine, sleek tannins and a hint of bitterness on the finish, which works well. A wine of medium length which will offer pleasure for five to eight years.
