Descendants of the Schrapel family have been caretakers of vineyards in the Barossa Valley for more than 150 years. Today, those very vineyards continue to be nurtured to produce what have become some of the most iconic wines in the Valley.

Our Wines

One of the oldest established winemakers in the Barossa Valley, Bethany Wines is a family-owned winery that offers premium wines that are truly reflective of their Barossa Ranges’ terroir.

The majority of fruit is sourced from hand-tendered vines in Bethany belonging to the Schrapel family, comprising the Bethanien Vineyard, the Old Manse Vineyard, the Quarry Vineyard and the Homestead Vineyard. During summer, the vines are fanned in the evenings with cool gully breezes, creating a special microclimate that allows the grapes to achieve good sugar and acid levels without becoming over-ripe. The gradual ripening creates well balanced wines that are full of flavour and structure.

Bethany’s flagship GR Shiraz series and Old Vine Grenache is sourced from some of the oldest vines in the Barossa Valley, while its Riesling comes from some of the best sites in the Eden Valley.

More information on each wine can be easily accessed on their individual pages.
