1992 Bethany Shiraz

This classic, full-bodied Shiraz matured in French and American oak is a well-rounded deep purple/red wine with a lifted berry fruit and spice bouquet overlying a complexity of luscious berry fruit characters. A pleasing acidity with lingering fruit and tannin combine in a clean, delicious finish.

2002 Bethany Shiraz

Tasting note
The flagship of the Schrapel family red wines and the style which has made the Barossa Valley famous the world over. A deep garnet, almost black, colour is followed by a bouquet of berry fruits with a hint of pepper. The flavour displays some earthy characters, excellent varietal fruit, and restrained tannins. The finish is mellow and satisfying.

2012 Bethay LE Reserve Shiraz

Tasting note
The 2012 LE Reserve Shiraz expresses to the fullest the true characteristics of Shiraz grown on the foothills of the Barossa. The fresh, vibrant plum and blackberry aromas carry on to the rich, full varietal flavours of the palate and to a long finish which displays an excellent balance of fine grain tannins and natural acidity.

96 POINTS James Halliday Wine Companion – ‘Bright purple-crimson; a high-quality wine that calmly, but convincingly, ticks all the boxes; it is a perfect portrait of medium-bodied Barossa Valley Shiraz, with black fruits supported by fine-grained tannins and quality French oak on a supple and long palate. Seriously lovely wine.’
#5 of TOP 100 Wines / 95 POINTS Robert Geddes MW Australian Wine Vintages – ‘Very pretty ripe and savoury aromas with blackberry and dark dried spice. In the mouth sustained fruit power and complexity of bright fresh fruit with length of fresh dark plum and cherry fruits and stemmy savoury smoky dark spices finish.’
